    Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Air quality testing involves assessing the air in indoor environments for pollutants, allergens, and other harmful substances. We measure levels of mold spores, dust, chemicals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, and other gases using specialized equipment, sampling from various points on the job site.

It can also evaluate humidity and temperature, which affect air quality. The goal is to identify potential health hazards and ensure the air within your homes, offices, or other buildings gives you peace of mind.

Poor air quality can lead to various health issues, especially for those with respiratory conditions or allergies.

NEA and EDB regularly monitor and set standards out for indoor air quality, and require industries to conduct source emission tests on their own, or engage accredited laboratories under the Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (SAC-SINGLAS) to do so for them, such as Ecosense.

Air quality testing ensures that you keep in accordance with these guidelines and ensure a safe and healthy environment for yourself and your workers.

You may conduct indoor air quality testing by yourself. However, it is recommended to follow standard code of practice and engage professionals like EcoSense to conduct such air quality tests.

The air quality tester needs to have undertaken indoor air quality training, and have passed WPH-WSH-5065-1.1 Indoor Air Quality Management-5, which Ecosense has.

We are also adept at operating the air quality instructions needed and interpreting the recordings in ways that make sense for your business.

We test for multiple air quality particulates, some of which are things like sulfur dioxide levels in the air, particulate matter (PM 2.5 and PM 10), bacterial and mold spores, ozone levels, and many other useful metrics to determine the overall health of the testing site and it’s surrounding areas.
